Gotta say, I really wish I could be on Newgrounds more than I have been.

It's been a long time. 2018? Yeah. I had a lot going on during the pandemic, and had an even worse time dealing with some massive depression with a break-up (let's just call it that) I had in 2020. Since then I've just been getting by.

School has been killing me, I'm in my final year this time, for real. It's been 6 long years of fun and education, but I'm grinding at finishing my Senior Thesis and landing a job at an animation studio.

With college finally being done and all my work accumulating into a job I hope to have soon, I also hope I'm able to draw more for fun, because to be completely honest, it's been a chore at this point.

That being said, commissions are open. I need the money, mostly to pay for the expenses of my final year at CCS, and just to have some emergency funds. I didn't plan to make everything green the sheet but I guess that's just become my color in recent years. I like it.

I've also met some really cool people at my college who have gotten me back into Newgrounds, and I want to try and make an effort (no pormises) to have a presence here. Found a new circle of artists on social media that are all really great, and it gave me some new heroes to look for inspiration.

Hello! I barely use Newgrounds, but in the wake of recent events, I'd like to start using it more as an opportunity to make more friends within the online art community and share some of the things I've been working on in school.

A little about myself; My name is Josh. I'm 19 right now, have always wanted to work in the entertainment industry, and I'm currently working to dip my hands in whatever creative process I can do to make something. I want to be a 2D or 3D animator, storyboard artist, illustrator, writer, or a voice actor. Most of my activites include playing competitive Super Smash Bros, playing video games in general, hanging out with friends, watching YouTube, and drawing. I'm currently in my second year of college and I'm working to get an internship and a couple of various studios to see how the industry works, but I need to build up a hefty reel/portfolio first, which is what I think Newgrounds could help with.

Some of my inspirations include most of the biggest names here like Oney, psychicpebbles, Spazkid, and Kirbopher, but I've also looked up to Craig McCracken, J.G. Quintel, Joe Murray, Mr. Warburton, Stephen Hillenburg (God rest his soul), Frank Thomas, and Milt Kahl.

The semester is wrapping up soon and I'm pretty happy about it. I've done a lot and learned a lot animation-wise, and I'll be getting more into gesture drawing next semester. My professors have been really helpful and supportive, and I can tell it's having a good effect on me.

I really do want to be more active on Newgrounds, and looking more into art, I'd like to do more art submissions than just gifs of my projects or animations. It's actually been a long time since I did fanart or something that wasn't me or a person that wanted to be drawn. I don't think I'm that good to be commissioned yet, but I'd like to say I'm getting there soon.

Christmas break is also coming up, and I'll be just relaxing during that time. I'll just be hanging out with all my friends back home, play the new Smash bros, go to tournaments, and win. EZ Money. I was also planning to work on some stuff for my own to get content in here so it's not so depressing and bland on my page when you come to visit.
